Green Chutney (Coriander & Mint)

Green chutney is one of the most popular condiments in India, served with all sorts of dishes, especially street food. It is a delicious, fresh tasting sauce with a vibrant green colour, a big kick and bags of flavour. It goes great with all Indian savoury food, whether that is a samosa, a curry or anything in between. It is super quick to make too, as all you have to do is blend all of the ingredients together.

1 stuffed cup fresh coriander (thicker stalks removed)

1 stuffed cup fresh mint (leaves picked from stalks)

3 green birds eye chillis, finely chopped

Juice of 1 lemon

1/2 a thumb sized piece of ginger, finely chopped

1 garlic clove, finely chopped

1/4 teaspoon black salt (or to taste)

1/4 teaspoon Chaat Masala (Indian spice mix)

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cooking Time: n/a minutes

Serves: Enough for at least 4 people as a condiment to go with a curry

  1. This is a really easy recipe! Pop all of the ingredients into a blender and blend with water until it is the required consistency, I use about half a cup
